Mafuta Christmas

Today in the town of David  a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord.  This will be a sign to you; You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.  Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,  “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.”   Luke 2: 11- 14

Because of your love and support, Zion Village is able to provide food for a feeding center in Mafuta.  It is here where many orphaned and vulnerable children come.  Every day they are eating a meal they might not get.  They are receiving a preschool education from volunteers and volunteers that cook the food that we, Zion, bring.  God is So Good to provide food, school supplies, electricity, volunteers and fire wood!!!!!

Each year at Christmas we try to bring a message not just of food and gifts but the ONE of the Love of JESUS and the reason that we even celebrate Christmas.  This year was no different.  The menu was chicken, pasta, rice, veggies and cookies. 

         

I always love to hear the children pray.  It is so sweet even though I do not understand the language totally.  Still it is a prayer of thanks to God. 

         

                                                

Every plate was piled high and all enjoyed the food. 

                        

          

After the Christmas story, prayer, food and songs, we handed out donations of pillow case dresses for the girls and shorts for the boys.  Thank you again for your donations to make a smile on a small child. 

                                 

So, even tough the place was full of water from the rains and we were also a bit wet, our day was blessed and we know that God blessed all these small children and staff.
